Jawhar Muhammad
Artist Details:
Jawhar was born In Erbil in 1962.
Jawhar has had many personal exhibitions in Erbil, throughout the Kurdistan region and Iraq. Jawhar has worked as a manager for Fine Arts Department/Ministry of Education in Erbil.
This beautiful painting hangs in the lounge at the LR Gallery.

Ibrahim Al Warthy
Artist Details:
Ibrahim was born in Baghdad in 1970.
He graduated from the School of Nursing in Baghdad.
He is a member of the Iraqi Arts union.
Ibrahim has participated in many exhibitions inside and outside of Iraq.

Jaza Bakir
Artist details:
Jaza was born in Sulaymaniyah in 1963.
In 1988 Jaza accomplished a Diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts, painting sector in Baghdad. In 2007 they received an M.A in Critics in Art from the University of Slemani. Later in 2011 Jaza completed a Ph.D.in Arts.
Through 1982-2005 Jaza participated in more than 35 exhibitions in Slemani, Erbil, Dhouk, Baghdad, Sweden, USA and Holland. It was in 1994 that they had their first personal exhibition. In 1992 Jaza received a prize from the first youth festival in Slemani from the College of Arts.

Azad Shawqy
Artist Details:
Azad was born in 1939 and Died in 2002.
Azad Shawqy studied at the Fine Arts Institute aand complted his education in 1953.
Azad was a founder of the Kurdish Institute of Fine Arts in Slemani, and was a major figure in the art scene in Kurdistan. Showcasing his works in many exhibitions and inspiring artists to this day.
You will find several of Azad’s paintings in the gallery on both the ground floor and the first floor.

Shagul Haseeb Qader
Artist Details:
Shangul was born in Kirkuk in 1965
She obtained an Honorary Doctorate in Fine Arts. She is a member of the Iraqi Artists Union and a member of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Society.
Shangul has participated in many festivals in Iraq and Jordan.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions in Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey and the UAE. Obtaining an internationally renowned reputation for her work.

Murad Ibrahim
Artist Details:
Murad was born in Baghdad in 1976
Murad graduated from the institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1988.
Murad Ibrahim has participated in many exhibitions through out Iraq and internationally. He has won many awards for his works. Murad is the founder of the Fine Arts Gallery in Baghdad and is still active in the art industry.

Artist Details:
Rauf was born in Halabja in 1961.
He graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1986 and is a member of the Kurdistan Artists Syndicate.
Rauf has participated in many group exhibitions in Kurdistan and Iraq.

Adnan Karim
Artist Details:
Adnan was Born in Kirkuk in 1963
Adnan graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Sulaymaniyah specialising in painting.
Adnan Karim is a world renowned musician and established artist working mainly with water colours, oils and acrylic mediums. Adnan has held numerous exhibitions in Europe and the Middle East, earning acclaim from audiences and critics alike. When not creating music, he dedicates his time to capturing landscapes through his art, blending his love for nature with his artistic vision.

​Jabar Majbal
Artist Details:
Jabar was born in Iraq 1952
Jabbar obtained his diploma from the Institute of Fine Art in 1971 and his B.A. in fine Arts in 1975.
Mujbel is a member of Arts Organization in Baghdad, Federation of Journalists of Iraq, Iraqi Plastic Artists Society, and The Jordanian Artists Association.
He participated in several exhibitions in Iraq and abroad and had worked as an artist in the Iraqi press for more than 25 years.

Ako Gharib
Artist details:
Ako was born in Slemani in 1962
In 1985 Ako received a Diploma from the Institute of Fine Arts in Slemani.
He is a member of Kurdistan Artists Syndicate
Throughout 1980 - 2000 he had five personal exhibitions in Slemani and in
1991 Ako held exhibitions in Dhouk and Zakho. Ako has participated in many other exhibitions inside and outside Kurdistan showcasing his beautiful work.

Artist details:
Born in Slemani.
1985 Diploma from Fine Arts Institute - Slemani.
1983 - 2014 Participated in more than one hundred exhibitions inside Kurdistan and abroad.
1985 - 2008 Had seven solo exhibitions.
Active Member in Kurdistan Artists Syndicate.
Works as an art advisor in Slemani.

Cheeman Ismail
Artist Details:
Cheeman was born in Sulaymaniyah in 1966.
Cheeman received a Diploma from the Academy of Fine
Arts in Baghdad in 1988.
From 1992 - 2012 Cheeman had twelve personal exhibitions, and has participated in many exhibitions in Germany, Canada, USA, Holland, Japan, Korea and Austria.
Cheeman continues to paint, and her works can be seen in many galleries. She shares her talent as a teacher at the Institute of Fine Arts in Slemani.
The LR Gallery has curated a floral collection for this exhibition from the personal paintings owned by President Latif Rashid.​

Artist Details:
Jamal was born in Erbil in 1962.
In 1989 he obtained a Diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad.

Fadel Abass
Artist Details:
Fadhel was born in Baghdad in 1964.
In 1984 Fadhel graduated from Fine Arts Institute and in 1987 earnt a B.A from Collage of Fine Arts - Babil University.
Fadhel is a member of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Society and a member of the Iraqi Artists Union.
He has participated in many exhibitions inside and outside of Iraq.

Amir Bader
Artist Details:
Amir was born in Baghdad in 1975.
In 1997 Amir earnt a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Institute of Fine Arts, Baghdad. In 2001 completed a B.A in Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts/ University of Technology.
Amir is a Member of Iraqi Artists Union, the Iraqi Plastic Artists Society and a
member of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Gathering (I.P.A.G).
Amir Bader has participated in many exhibitions and festivals including:
the Babylon Festival Exhibition in 1997-1999.
The Inana Gallery Exhibition (Iraqi Version) in 1998.
The Jameel Hamoudi competition in 2000.
Most of Ministry of Culture Activities throughout 1996-2003.
Common Sense Exhibition in 2003.

Ali Karim
Artist Details:
1946 Born in Sulaymaniyah.
In 1972 Ali Karim obtained a Diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
In 1979 he had his first personal exhibition in Sulaymaniyah with many exhibitions thereafter.
Ali Karim has generously shared his knowledge and talents with generations of artists through his teachings.

Ahmed Sam
Artist Details:
Ahmed was born in Baghdad in 1974
In 2000 Ahmed Sam completed a B.A in Plastic Arts/Painting from the
University of Baghdad.
Ahmed Sam is a member of Iraqi Artists Union and a member of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Gathering (I.P.A.G).
Ahmed Sam has showcased his works in many festivals such as:
Al Wasiti Festival Exhibition.
Babylon Festival Exhibition.
Al Rabee Exhibition.
Exhibition of establishing the Iraqi Plastic Artists Gathering.

Artist details:
Rostem was born in Slemani in 1976.
Rostem is a professional artist who qualified with a Diploma, B.A. and M.A in Fine Arts from the University of Sulaymaniyah.
He is a member of Kurdistan Artists Syndicate.
Rostem has had many personal exhibitions in Slemani and participated in numerous exhibitions inside and outside Kurdistan.

Rana Al Taie
Artist details:
Rana was born in Baghdad in 1980.
In 2003 Rana received a B.A in Fine Arts/Plastic Art from the College of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
Rana is a member of Iraqi Artists Union, the Iraqi Translators Union. They are a member ·of the Iraqi Plastic Calligraphers Society and a member of the Iraq-American Chamber of Commerce.

Sajeda Al Mashaykhee
Artist details:
Sajeda was born in Baghdad/ All Karkh in 1944.
Sajeda received a B.A. in Arts from the faculty of Queen Alia Baghdad.
Sajeda is a member of the Iraqi Arts Union and a member of the Iraqi Plastic Arts Society.
Sajeda participated in many exhibitions inside and outside of Iraq and two of their paintings can be found in this exhibition.

Artist details:
Asaa’d was born in Baghdad in 1971.
In 1996 Asaa’d recieved a B.A in Plastic Art/Painting from the University of Baghdad.
Asaa’d is a member of Iraqi Artists Union, the Iraqi Plastic Artists Society and a member of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Gathering (I.P.A.G).
Asaa’d Participated in the Al Wasiti Festival Exhibition, Babylon Festival Exhibition and the Al Rabee Exhibition at the Al Orfaly Gallery. Asaa’d held many more exhibitions at Art Office.

Lala Abde
Artist details:
Lala was born in Sulaymaniyah in 1947.
Lala holds a first diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1970 and in 1978 a second cum laude from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy.
Lala Abde counts numerous solo exhibitions in institutional and prestigious locations and galleries in Iraq, Sulaymaniyah, Florence, Strasbourg and in Belgium as well as group exhibitions from London to Paris to Berlin.

Sattar Loqman
Artist details:
Satar was born in Baghdad in 1944.
In 1967 Satar completed a B.A in Fine Arts.
Satar is a member of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Society.
In 1977 and 1997 Satar held two personal exhibitions.
Satar also participated in International exhibitions in Tunisia, London, Berlin, Russia, France and Dubai.
Satar’s unique style can be seen as a collection in this exhibition.

Hussein Al Musawi
Artist Details:
Husseain was born in Baghdad 1979.
Hussein is a member of the Iraqi Artists Union and the Iraqi Plastic Artists Society.
He has participated in many exhibitions inside and outside of iraq with shared exhibitions in Baghdad and Amman at prestigious locations such as the Hewar Hall, Al Durubi Hall and the Iraqi Plastics Hall in Baghdad. As well as the Orfaly Hall in Amman.

Kurdo was born in Slemani in 1981
In 2001 Kurdo Graduated from the Fine Arts Institute in Sulaymaniyah.
Kurdo is a member of Kurdistan Artists Syndicate and Kurdistan Photographers Union.
Kurdo has recieved awards and participated in many exhibitions for example:
In 1999 held his first personal exhibition in the TDC Gallery.
In 2007 Kurdo won Best Photographer Award, Best Poster Award and in 2012 Won Best Photo Award.

Khairy Adam
Artist details:
Khairy was born in the Kurdistan Region in 1981.
In 2001 Khairy graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Duhok with a Diploma in Painting. In 2004 he attended College and earned a BA in Painting from the Fine Arts Salahaddin University, Erbil. He worked seven years as an art teacher in different schools including the Fine Arts Institute of Duhok. Later he attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA in 2012 and in 2015.

Callie Rashid
Artist Details:
Callie was born in Northampton, England in 1990.
She studied Interior Design and Psychotherapeutic Counselling in England before moving to Kurdistan with her family.
Callie combines her knowledge of design with her understanding of psychology to create conceptual art pieces that evoke thoughts, questions and emotions in the viewer.

Mahmud Cawian
Artist details:
Mahmud was born in Khaneqeen in 1951.
He studied arts first at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bagdad, then in the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. He continued studying arts until 1983 when he graduated in Archaeology and Art History at La Sorbonne, so acquired a deep knowledge and understanding of accidental classical arts.
In 1992, 1993, 1994,2006 he held exhibitions at the Gallery de Ville Carroz, France. In 1993 at the Center Culture! de Vias.
Mahmud Cawian currently sells his paintings internationally.​

Dhia Al Khuzaee
Artist Details:
Dhia was born in Diwaniya, Iraq in 1960
In 1977 Dhia obtained a B.A. in Fine Arts and Painting.
Dhia is a member of the Iraqi Arts Union and the Iraqi Plastic Arts Society
You will find a striking collection of abstract mixed media paintings on the top floor of the Latif Rashid Gallery. A collection where the more you look the more you see.

Ismail Khayat
Artist Details:
Ismail Khayat was born in Khanaqin Iraq in 1944.
Due to his talents Ismail recieved many certificates and went on to study at Baqubah University. In 1966 he succesfully completed his studies and became a teacher. He retired from teaching in 1991.
Ismail participated in 106 private exhibitions from 1969- 2019 and numerous joint exhibitions and projects throughout Iraq, Kurdistan and internationally too.

Maher Setar
Artist Details:
Maher was born in Khaneqin Iraq in 1969.
He graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
In 2014 he opened his first solo exhibition in Sardamy Gallery Sulaymaniyah.
In addition he has participated in many join exhibitions inside and outside of Iraq.

Ali Latif
rtist details:
Ali Latif was born in 1944 and died in 2009.
Ali was multi talented and had an impressive sporting career. He played football, volleyball and ran track. He became the coach of Sulaymaniyah football team.
Alongside his impressive sporting career he was a well known figure in the art community. He had extensive experience and has showcased his works across the globe throughout Europe, Canada and Japan with a total of 11 solo exhibitions.
We proudly present this painting at the LR Gallery and have another to show in Part 2 of the Founders Exhibit.

Dhia Al Azzawi
Artist details:
Dhia Al Azzawi was born in Baghdad 1939.
Dhia first studied Archeology at the University of Baghdad and later studied art.
Dia Al-Azzawi is an Iraqi painter and sculptor, who lives and works in London. He is one of the pioneers of modern Arab art and is noted for incorporating Arabic script into his paintings. Active in the arts community, he founded the Iraqi art group known as New Vision and has been an inspiration to a generation of young calligraffitiartists.
He has held many exhibitions and events. His works are held in prestigious art galleries, art museums and public collections including in both the West and the Middle East

Studied painting, ceramics and technical instrument.

1976 Started teaching in Fine Arts Academic and chaired the Plastic Arts Department.
